FTW Benbulben Ransom Love

Fizz is but a titch when set against an average Working Cocker Spaniel.  Size is all that she lacks, no disadvantage when she wriggles so willingly, beneath cover in search of her quarry.  In every other way she exceeds beyond my expectation.  She took training with ease and by twelve months began work in earnest.  To that she’s added cunning beyond her years and will persist on a line whenever she’s allowed.

Fizz, as Bunty before, made her initial Field Trial outing to the Dorset Working Spaniel Club where she ran in a Novice A/V at just fifteen months.  Very much the new kid on the block, Fizz made fantastic account of herself.  While running on the left she produced a double cock bird flush, one down dead, the other a strong runner which gave her a chance to demonstrate her skills.  That accounted for,  she was next put to work on the first bird down, now a blind.  Again that was no challenge for Fizz and she handled easily onto the bird.  No win for Fizz alas, but still a very worthy Second and a first trial run that I was delighted with.

Three months on and this time at a Chiltern Gundog Society Novice Cocker Field Trial, Fizz was again dealing with an extremely strong runner this time to no avail.  The little dog finished second after running off to decide first place but this time along with the Guns Choice.
